ROA in town to work on another project with Elegel Group was asked to paint the gate for longtime specialty pizza and beverages spot LOIZA 2050. ROA’s aesthetic perfectly matched that of the owner, Thelma, and her restaurant and she was thrilled to let ROA paint his finch skull on the rolling door of her restaurant. Massive change and the finishing touch on a great spot.
Another Calle Loiza rolling door with a graffiti throw up by the NYC/PR OG KLAS (sorry Klas!), LOIZA 2050 needed the help of Calle Loiza’s LAS50 program.
Already the facade is looking better but something is missing.
Thanks to Coqui Charities strategic and financial sponsorship, LAS50 is able to pay the artist and for supplies to bring professional muralists to paint int he program. It’s a collaboration between business owner, Coqui Charities, Elegel and of course the greaat artists that contribute their time and vision.
The Master after laying down the image goes in to bring his images “to life” with the details that make it ROA. And on a rolling door, it’s not easy.
ROA chooses his subject matter for any piece with care and he chose the finch skull as something that would fill the space, not be too complicated for the curves of the rolling door and would complement the look of the spot.
A long time part of the community, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say Thelma had tears in her eyes. We’re very happy you are. See you soon!
